In collaboration with jeweller Benjamin Hawkins and Newby Teas, we have transformed the Easter Egg into a 1-metre-tall silver-plated brass egg-shaped teapot, named ‘The Art of Tea’. The overall design was inspired by a masterpiece in the Chitra Collection: a Fabergé silver tea kettle made in 1893, through traditional silversmithing techniques on a grand scale. To embody Newby Tea’s dedication to craftsmanship and sustainability, It was hand-raised in sections, assembled, and silver-plated to achieve a flawless mirror finish. Over 200 hours of meticulous craftsmanship went into its creation.

Transitioning from jewellery to larger-scale work was a formative experience that sparked my journey into the world of silversmithing.
